Policy

• Items for consignment will only be accepted during posted consignment hours.
• All items must be current styles in clean, sellable and wearable condition. (Preferably on hangers.) If necessary, the store will steam items for a nominal charge, which will be deducted from the consigner’s next payout.
• Lotus Consignment Boutique specializes in woman’s/junior’s seasonal dresses, pants, skirts, coats, jackets, shoes, scarves, belts, suits, purses, wallets, hats, perfume & jewelry for consignment. We accept plus sizes as well. Additional or handcrafted items may be accepted on a case by case basis.
• All items must be authentic labels, no exceptions.
• Consigned items will be priced based on label, condition, desirability and style at approximately 25%-50% of the original sales price. (Items with original tags may be priced at a higher percentage at the stores discretion.)
• In consideration of other waiting consignors & the store’s storage capacity, a max. of twenty five (25) items may be brought in per visit when the consignor prefers any of the items be returned if not accepted by the store at the time of review. (A $200 accumulative store price must be reached to start an account.)
• If the consignor is willing to donate all items not accepted by the store, there is no limit to how many items the consignor may bring in.
• The consignor and Lotus Consignment Boutique will split the final sale price of all items 50/50.
• Although we take necessary precautions to prevent theft or damage to all of our items, Lotus Consignment will not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged merchandise.
• The consignor is responsible for the pickup of all unsold items. Any and all item(s) not picked up two weeks after being removed from the sales floor will be donated.
• Money due to the consignor may be picked up at anytime during regular business hours with a photo ID. (An additional designated person may collect monies due if requested by the original consignor at the time of consignment. (We will make a notation on your account.) All payouts are in the form of a check. Funds will expire 6 months after the start date of each cycle and be donated to a charity of the stores choosing.
• Payout checks can be mailed to the address on file (if requested) to the consignor for a nominal fee.

How it Works

Items will be brought in by the consignor under the guidelines listed above. The items will be priced by the store within 24 hours of being taken in. (Any items that are price sensitive must be discussed with a store employee at time of the item’s acceptance into the store. (The final pricing decision however, rests solely with the store). Once priced, items will be on the sales floor for about thirty days (30) at their original price. If after the approximate thirty (30) days the item does not sell, it will be on sale for a week at 30% off the original store price. If the item still does not sell, the item will then be marked down to 50% off the original store price and stay on the floor for one final week. After approximately forty-five (45 days), any un-sold item(s) will be removed from the floor & bagged if the consignor designated at the time of consignment to have these items returned if not sold. (A bagging fee per consigned date will apply.) If for some reason the consignor would like an item(s) returned before the 45 day time frame, it will be the consignor’s responsibility to locate the items on the floor and notify the store employee. If the consignor designated to donate any of the un-sold items after the forty-five (45) day sales period, the items will be donated to one of the store’s designated charities. Although Lotus Consignment will do our best to protect your items by discouraging theft & damage, we can not be responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. Any item that has been damaged that we feel can still be sold will be done so at a discount with a loss to the consignor & the store. We reserve the right to refuse service.
